Top 10 Christmas Movies!

chr

I have always loved watching movies in different genres and different languages. I enjoy watching movies from genres like romantic comedies, classics, action, sci-fi, horror among others. As a child, I used to enjoy watching Christmas themed movies with my family. Nowadays, it has almost become a tradition of sorts when my son and I watch at least a few Christmas movies during the festive season after his school closes for the winter break (which begins, by the way, at the end of this week….Yaaayyy! :D)

So for this week, I decided to put together a list of our Top 10 Christmas movies of all times. (Note: this list is not based on statistics or any rating by movie websites, it is purely based on the favorites picked from this mom and her son’s collections!)

Without further ado, here is our list of Top 10 Favorite Christmas movies of all times in random order.

  1. Home Alone 1 & 2

home-alone

This movie is about an 8-year old troublemaker who must protect his home from a pair of burglars. My son is a bigger fan of these movies than I ever was. Can’t blame him, can we?

This one is on the list because of my son. He loves movies where children are the main or only characters. This movie totally belongs to the minors! 😀

  3. Every year we pick one movie we haven’t seen yet, and watch it with the he family on Christmas Eve. This year it’s Miracle on 34th street, so I guess we’re good! Our all time favorite so far though is White Crsitmas ( love the music!) with the Santa Claus as a close second!

  5. It’s a Wonderful Life, definitely. Can’t beat a good cry! Also, I know they’re not Christmassy at all but I would add the Sound of Music and/or The Wizard of Oz – just because they always seemed to be on at Christmas when I was a kid, so they feel sort of festive to me.

  7. You’ve given me some new ones to watch. I would add “Christmas Vacation” and “A Christmas Carol” (the one with George C. Scott). I’m a sucker for Dickens’ dystopic London settings. 🙂

  8. I’m a total sucker for It’s a Wonderful Life! I cry every single time I watch it! Yes it’s corny and dated but I absolutely adore Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed and the whole ‘what would happen if you’d never been born’ concept!
